‘Yes We Can’ 08 Election

Obama winning over former Clinton supporters…

By NEDRA PICKLER, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON (AP) — Barack Obama has won over more than half of Hillary Rodham Clinton’s former supporters, according to an Associated Press-Yahoo! News poll that finds party loyalty trumping hard feelings less than three weeks after their bruising Democratic presidential contest ended.

The poll suggests time is beginning to heal some rifts from the primary campaign and that the New York senator’s endorsement of Obama carried weight. The poll was taken in the days after Clinton suspended her campaign and said she was supporting her rival.

Obama’s progress with Clinton supporters is marked, yet far from complete. More than one in five who had backed the New York senator now plan to support Republican John McCain in the fall, a boost for McCain if those opinions hold.

“We still have work to do,” Obama campaign manager David Plouffe told reporters in a strategy briefing. “Democrats are consolidating behind the nominee as the choice in the election is more clear and as the contest fades. Time is our friend here.”

The poll found 53 percent of the Democrats who favored Clinton for the nomination two months ago now back Obama for president. That’s an improvement from April, when only 40 percent of Clinton supporters said they would back Obama over McCain.

Why Must It Be Us??? Celebrity Rehab & Rodney King

Okay, so don’t get me wrong Rehab is a good thing.  Definitely when it saves a life.  However, daily as I wonder on the streets of the black community and especially when I examine the blacks in the media I ask myself “Why Lord, Why us, Why are we addicted to so many addictions that MESS us up???”  So who’s next to try to clean up their life?  Many of you know the story of Rodney King and the LA beating in 1991.  However, did you know that he was a drug addict? This ain’t funny but I sure am laughing!  Now what substances he uses only God knows, however I ain’t gonna come at this fool too hard cause at least he’s trying to get clean.   Or is this just another TV pub stunt…. Anyway his next big social appearance will be on VH1’s “Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew” .  WHAT WILL IS TAKE MY PEOPLE, WHAT WILL IT TAKE???

Barack Obama…History in Making!

“I think this will be in a class by itself,” said John Hope Franklin, who at 93 is the dean of the American historians who think and write about race. Obama’s campaign “is the most radical, far-reaching, significant [undertaking] by any individual or group in our history,” he said. “This strikes at the very heart of national ideology on race and the political patterns of this country’s history.”
